The Sims Freeplay ~ Ringlets of Fire Long Hair Quest Walkthrough + Tips

The Ringlets of Fire Quest is a special quest that gives simmers 9 fantastic new long hairstyles for adult female Sims to unlock through the Fashion Design hobby. So grab your fashion studios because you're going to sew your way to long hair. (Does that make sense?)

This post will tell you how to unlock these long hairstyles.

This Quest lasts from August 21 to 27, 2014 ~

This is a timed quest. If you do NOT finish the quest within the time limit, you do not get the hairstyles [that you have yet to unlock].

You are going to need: some fashion hobby Sims (one with the skill maxed is required), fashion studios... and a ridiculous amount of patience and maybe some snacks to keep your sanity.

A Makeshift Factory:

The Quest Steps:

- Talk to a Sim (Be nice to a Sim - 1 Minute)
- Spot long haired Sims on TV (5 Minutes on 3-star TV)
- Email the long-haired Celebrity Sims (2 Minutes)
- Buy a Fashion Studio (From the Hobby Shop - you may have to build the hobby shop if you don't have one)
- Create 1 Fashion Design (10 Minutes)
- Create a Complete Outfit Set (A Row)
- Create all Four [Sets of] Outfits (That means the entire collection)
- Complete a 2nd Complete Outfit Set (meaning entire collection)
- Complete a 3rd Complete Outfit Set
- Complete a 4th Complete Outfit Set
- Complete a 5th Complete Outfit Set
- Complete a 6th Complete Outfit Set
- Complete a 7th Complete Outfit Set
- Complete an 8th Complete Outfit Set
- Complete a 9th Complete Outfit Set

This is painfully long and seems impossible, but the prize definitely worth it.

Glossary/List of Long Hairstyles:

There are 9 in total that can be unlocked and will later appear in the closets/wardrobes. Each hairstyle comes in 4 colours (black, brown, blonde, and red). These are unlocked in a random order.

1. Long Shoulder Ponytail:

2. Full Fringe Ponytail:

3. Long Cornrows:

4. Long Parted [Braided] Ponytail:

5. Long Straight Over Ear:

6. Long Double Ponytail:

7. Long Back Parted Ponytail:

8. Long Straight:

9. Long Straight Fringe:

Tips:

- Drop everything and do fashion design.
- Move all of your fashion studios into one room so that collecting is faster.
- Have as many Sims as possible working on fashion design.
- You only need one Sim at level 6 Fashion Design in order to unlock everything, so don't waste time trying to train everybody.
- The best way to finish this quest is to have every Sim Design Fashion (10 Minutes), as it is the quickest.
- Check in on your Sims often, to collect.
- Keep them in a decent mood.
- Missing one piece of your collection can take a while, but just keep at it.
- Don't spend LP on collections (I learnt this the hard way), you will roll randoms and you may get something you have already unlocked.
- IMPORTANT: Remember to go to the hobbies panel, then select fashion design, and then start a new collection once you finish it. Otherwise, none of the collectibles will count.
- Like the Fishing hobby, certain collectibles are more common at certain parts of the day.

This quest is very tedious and at times can get very irritating, especially when it can take hours to complete the collection just one time. Nevertheless, I managed to finish the quest in just under 20 hours.

Happy Simming,
Y

    1. It's time-limited, meaning you can only start it once EA allows everyone to (basically at the same time, with a time limit) unlike regular quests. I recently opened up Sims Freeplay on my iPad and a pop-up it said that this was "Coming Soon" so it might be relaunching soon. All the best :)
